Emily Flagg
My interest in photography began at Pittsford Mendon High School, when I learned how to expand my view of the world by capturing my surroundings in a focused moment through a lens. Over the last 20 years, the artistic freedom of the camera has provided a means of escape from the journey through college and career, and continues to do so. Although I was hesitant to transition from 35mm film to the vast new realm of digital over the last several years, I soon learned that what once seemed an overwhelming advance in technology was merely another mechanism to capture those focused moments. The skills acquired with a camera combined with my passion for the outdoors and adventure led me towards a particular interest in travel, landscape and nature photography. I enjoy the experiences that photography provides me and the feelings of accomplishment when I capture an image just as I wanted; however, I have always felt a desire to share my images with family, friends and passersby so they too may experience this form of art and perhaps gain a different perspective on the world that surrounds them.
